This morlum lady have refleted a difficult life since she left her village , she have only hoping the best day to return see then supported these old parents and she did not want to informed them of bad news that she confronted. In some border villages with Thailand, there don't remain more than elderly, children and of domestic animal. It's dramatic in a village without this living forces as youthfulness.

I think u got it wrong. If your parents took care of you when u were little,shouldn't u take of them when they are old. It should be done out of love,not the way u say it.Are u sure u understand Laotian way of life?

I think you got it backwad.When you are old and your kids put you in a old folks home than you'll know what I mean.We lao people know better help them get a good education so one day they can help you when you are old.

Lao's people have it all backward. They think the child should support the parents, when its the other way around. The chinese have it right.

for some reason i can't help but think about the lyrics. its actually is deep .i can actually relate.away from my mom and goin to school and working to hopefully one day provide her the riches to live a luxurious life style she deserves and yet in so doing missing the old days where. like the song said. bambooshoot soup with snails being the highlight of my childhood days.. but she seem so old.and yet singing to her mom ..life expectancy is only around late fifties. still good to listen to .ahha
