This will without question destroy your composite/gelcoat hull. I would put in off of a nearby peer or channel...forget about belly crawling. It's for plastic boats (e.g. Prijon Seayak).

This is so silly. When you're doing the scooting thing it reminds me of my dog doing the same thing on my carpet. I'm sorry. This is one of MANY reasons that I don't bother with sit-in kayaks. I have a surfski as well as a really skinny sit-on-top. Surf launch? Throw it in the water, jump on, and start paddling...

thank you for your great tips!! I have been kayaking for 20 years, mainly in warm water. Your advice on approaching the water and waves is right on. Its important to me because I have moved to a colder climate and im using a spray skirt for the first time.
