But the tactical value of hurting a man is much better, even though it is nasty. One hurt man needs at least two soldiers to take care of him until he dies or are evacuated. That means any offensive moves from that unit would be greatly disabled, often resulting in the whole battle moving to a different location and leaving mines for farmers to find.

I agree on half your point. I was a mine clearer in Afghanistan for NATO. The anti-personnel mines are the bitches of explosives, the anti tank mines are a great tactical weapon who is made not to kill infantry or civilians at foot.

Seriously,if they are gonna make landmines(cant believe im saying this) but make it kill so they dont have to suffer anymore than necessary.Or an even better option,just dont make them.

Yes Niswander!I have worked with this myself, in Afghanistan.90% of mine casualties is civilians.I say ban anti personel mines.When countries like the U.S.A still make and use them, why should terrorist be kind enough to think differently?I say a world wide ban of landmines and stop all trade with countries who does not apply.It is so inhumane, cause most of the cases it does not even kill... It just molest.It is not a killing weapon, it is torture.
