i am not saying that economic freedom leads to a utopian community but i do belive that markets react faster to the needs of the people who allow the markets to exsist than a government burocricy that is only marginally responcibal to the voters. i am a realist racer learn to accept that firstly.

now dont get me wrong the C.R.A only accounts for a portion of the subprime loans not all of them. usually in a market when a buisness fails other busineses take note of the why they failed and they steer clear of those fallies. well this is a little different we are now rewarding recless risk with a 'get out of jail free card' this bailout will simply tell business that recless risk is ok because if it comes to bite you in the ass the gov will bail you out.

now in the 70's under the carter administration we did some of this regulating that you so often desire and defend. this regulating was called the community reinvestment act, this bill actually was not a problem untill clinton when it was put into overdrive and banks where getting sued for not issueing enough sub prime loans. this problem is compounded by the sarbanes oxley act especially the mark to market clause. study up on mark to market and the C.R.A and tell me how they do no harm.

lol racer i dont even have to try to get under your skin do i? anyway im sorry it is not the houseing reinvestment act, it is called the community reinvestment act so if it did not show up when you googled it try it now. on another note i am far too buisy to go back and read all your rants. so it looks like in order for you to get the satisfaction of proving me wrong you will have to re-debate the issues.

speaking of ghosts from the past, Swag, where's your buddy, koobya? He's equally as delusional with his belief that Obama is the anti-christ! LOL! You right wingers really need to get a group discount on mental meds.
racer7nevercrashes (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
well, swaggy, looks like even your Milton Friedman fan club boys (ie, Greenspan) are admitting their beloved laissez faire is fantasy land economics for naive, delusional dreamers. Speaking of which, where have you been hiding? Did the doc up your dosage? Anyways, you use deceptive insinuation & just plain bullshit in your "debates". So, just scroll back to see comments regarding all those points you think you're an expert on. Life is too short to argue with circle jerks : )
racer7nevercrashes (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
swag:LOL!I completely forgot about you.But your pretentious,"i'm a financial know-it-all genius" reminds me to rub it in that REALITY has proven you wrong.Remember how you disappeared right after the banking meltdown? How you would argue about the stink I made of the merits of regulating industry? This was long before anyone other then CEO's & chief financial officers of those banks had an inkling of the massive red ink in their accounting books? Is it all coming back to you.If not, scroll back.
swag909 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
suprised you know who newt is. i wonder if you know what the houseing re-investment act is? do you know what mark to market accounting is? do you know what the employee free choice act is? do some research and get back to me, i would love nothing more than to discuss these issues with you.

smackdown is getting lump of coal from Newt Grinchrinch for Christmas ;-)Oh wait, neocon Newt Gingrich is now an "environmentalist". Or at least he plays one on TV along with Pelosi. Actually, since his "Contract with America" didn't have many accomplishments. He is now a co-author of a "Contract with Earth". He really has reversed his evil, earth hating ways! Miracles do happen!

aReasonableGuy - My point was that Christmas is actually a secular holiday. well despite your objections. christmas is in fact a christian holiday. people of other faiths do not celebrate it. and in fact, i think that many christians would take offense to your assertion.our founding fathers did not want christianity or any faiths polluting our government and that's the way it should stay. sorry. no government sponsored xmas tree for you. |
