On Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, a protest action, rally and march directed at the Junta now terrorizing the country of Burma, a/k/a Myanmar, was held on Embassy Row, in Washington, D.C. There is abundant evidence on the public record that the brutal military regime in that beleaguered country is arresting, killing and torturing, on a wholesale basis, scores of human rights activists, while viciously suppressing any public dissent to their criminal policies. At noon, the demonstration began in front of the Embassy of Burma. Then, the protesters proceeded to march to the Embassies of China and India. Today is "International Free Burma Day." Speaking at the rally in front of the Burma Embassy was Jeremy Woodrum. He's the co-founder, and director, of the U.S. Campaign for Burma. Mr. Woodrum sharply criticized the inaction of the UN on the human rights situation in Burma. He also blasted China's role in this debacle. Mr. Woodrum said a "boycott" of the 2008 Olympic in China is in order. He insisted that "sanctions" should be imposed on the Burma regime. When the protesters got to Embassy of China, they chanted: "Boycott the Olympics!" One of the themes for the rally was: "Support the Monks!"For background information, please see: http://www.uscampaignforburma.... and http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asi... and http://www.washingtonpeacecent... A longer video of the rally, 29 minutes, 4 seconds, can be found at: http://video.google.com/videop...

Burma needs an elected government not music or tree planting, dinners... I know we want the same but we need more action. Militia junta force is over. We need a green shield for the NLD and other political parties in opposition in Burma. Then declare a free election with free press in Burma. Where is the fund for people who want to see justice in the World, to live a friends and humans as one?
