Naah, you call someone braindead for having an opinion that doesn't happen to tally with your own, but can't take it when someone points out that you're being a dickhead, then do yourself the gross injustice of viciously defending yourself with a ditribe of contradiction. the benchmark? my opinion is my opinion and just that. the 80's did have a great sound and a number of great bands and albums, but to think it had the best music is just as "deluded" as the contrary argument. oh and maybe you should take your own advice and think before calling someone a dickhead...

The '80s had a particular vibe/production sound, amongst other factors (including age!) that has its appeal. I also think some of it was absolute trash (who DOESN'T?), but the same ratio exists in all periods of music. Maybe you should THINK first before calling someone 'braindead' simply because they're into a certain kind of music. Kind of deluded (though not necessarily braindead, I'll grant you that) to think that your opinion should be considered the benchmark.

the song still sounds AMAZING today. i once saw a youtube video for this song, played in australia (?) during an outdoor show with ballerinas & motorcyclists... was it the commonwealth games? can anyone source that video again?
