A very talented artist, w/a beautiful voice. She is heads & shoulders above the vast majority of trashy twits that clog the CD shelves nowadays. I was (& AM) so sorry her career never really took off. I still love her music 20 years later :-).

She sings with so much power. Music is missing singers like her. Its women who dont get the credit they deserve like Oleta, Phyllis Hyman, And Vesta. These are women with power vocals.

Can someone post Oleta's I JUST CALLED TO HEAR YOUR VOICE video? It was directed by fashion photog Randee St. Nicholas and featured Oleta looking stunning in a lace dress running through the forest - amazing!

Oleta has a beautiful voice and this is a beautiful video. My dear friend Deidra passed on Monday. I will be using this song for a memorial slideshow I am putting together. She was a beautiful African-American woman with a dazzling smile and she loved the ocean, so after watching this video I know it is the perfect choice.
