Enough with Dragonforce and Galneryus. It sounds the same to the untrained ear. Far off lands, power, love and emotions. Still think Toshi voice is #1. It's Natural.

Yeah, but don't misunderstand what I was aying. I love D-force and think they are amazing. But these people who use them as a standard for Power Metal and say that EVERY band who is Power Metal sounds like them have to stop. They don't even know about the genre. Most (if not all) of those people only know about p-metal because they looked up DragonForce after playing GH3. Am i glad that powermetal is getting some attention, yeah I guess, but not in the light it has been, where every band is DF.

Actually, they weren't all that popular here in the United States. Maybe a little more when TTFATF video came out. But over all....not so much. And they were always good live. Most times when people point out they suck they direct ppl to Graspop and AOTS. Those vids were bad, but no one is perfect. Two bad shows out of all of them they played. Anyway. I saw them twice this year and they were amazing. I would go to see them if I were you. It's an awesome show.

I agree with you for the most part. I'm going to agree with you that Dragonforce did definitely innovate their own sound. But they were very popular even before Guitar Hero, and they were almost always criticized for not being able to play their music live. Especially when videos of them live started showing up on youtube to confirm the fact that they couldn't play their own stuff. I've heard they're better live now, but I wouldn't know for certain.
