Llewlyn dies remember? The Mexicans corner him and kill him!The killer is a representation of violence and death. So he will NEVER die.As for the sherriff: the ending explains it all. He dreams about his father carrying on the fire of hope, creating hope in the 'darkness'. However, due to the sherriff's sins and inability to catch the killer, he wakes up before he reaches "hope". The sherriff almost caught the killer, but didn't cause he was scared of death.

i watched it last night and it was exciting till the end only i didn't get the ending of the film wat happened to Llewyn and what happened to the killer i guess we will never know right?

I liked it becuase it was an incredibly brilliant film on many levels. The movie, like the book, and like all of Cormac's books, are very very subtle. That's why I'm not surprised this story went over the heads of so many people.
