Waiting till the pearly gates is too late- you get to chat but not change fate. Sure you learned that even the truly repentant murderer will enter the kingdom. God knows our hearts and we have our entire LIFETIME to learn to commune with him. Overall, the point is you can't just "use" forgiveness for the sake of continuing to sin, expecting salvation. Yes, the unrealistic exception being one who knows the last second of his life and truly repents.

I had never gone to a Bible Study while I was a Christian, and I never even read the Bible. Yet I knew all the important verses from Church. Does that mean I go to hell? For a more important matter, do I go to hell if I'm atheist, and at the Pearly Gates, I suddenly realize I'm wrong and repent? I would definitely be accepted into Heaven (if it exists), and that would definitely be an example of the "do what you want and ask for forgiveness" kind of God.

I came across this video by researching law and mp3 downloading and what that means to me ethically, and to my personal sprititual journey. Copyright is watched carefully in Churches, can't wait to share with the rest of the choir"Only the dark side deals in Absolutes"Star Wars

A common misconception & what I used to believe since I was trained in the do what you want and ask for forgiveness 80's. The religion is good for generating a better heart thus "revelation" of God's plan for you by bible study, being in fellowship with his son whom circumvented the creators wrath and destruction of man. Fellowship can happen only if you truly try to follow his law's- thus the pure heart even if you make ignorant mistakes, and pray for what God is willing to give you.

"No such thing as Cheap grace"? Then what was the Bible about? What do you go to Church for? And to have a "pure heart", I assume, one would have to be totally free of sin. That is quite impossible, as everyone would go to hell. The only other way to interpret that is "everyone sins, but if they're truly sorry about it and have talked it over with God, they go to heaven". I find it sad that I'm atheist and I know more about your religion than you.
