Actually there is a remake of it...listen close to Chicken Lips "Eggy´s Pause Button" (Echoman LP)...you´ll recognise the bass & perc that plays in the original at 2:29...

WOW!!!! Thank you, I haven't heard this since a pal of mine got the "free" disc with a music mag all those years ago! And this was just the BEST track ever! I could go to heaven (and the nightclub, too! listening this with Get up (rock your body) by 202 Machine right after... What has happened to music now?

Wow what a thrill to hear this Nona Hendryx song which I've enjoyed since 1981. I'm so glad to find it posted on YOUTUBE. Thanks.

This song, IMO, should have been Nona's breakthrough single--great lyrics, killer vocal, great guitar solo. Unfortunately the indie Ze label just didn't have the marketing muscle to push it over the top. I'd love to see somebody re-do this

That's true about the guitar solo. I requested this song in a Montreal dance club back in 1980, and they dropped this version on the turntable and totally blew my mind! Needless to say, I went to the store the next day and scored this version to add to my collection.

Way back in 1989 I spoke to Ronnie Drayton, the guitarist who does the killer guitar solo on this record. He told me that Ze Records took out virtually all the guitar solo riffing on "Busting Out" for the American release, but left it on the French version. He said the French loved long guitar solos like this on dance records, but Americans didn't.

Labelle and Nona have always been closer to Parliament/Funkadelic than, say, the Supremes or Gladys Knight. I'm glad some of the people on this thread see that |
